Amber and Jay get married

We love it when someone special likes our work so much that they ask us to travel to shoot their wedding.

So how excited were we when gorgeous Amber and her handsome man Jay asked us to come to Byron Bay…eeeeekkkk!

Byron is awesome. And practically made for wedding photographers. Oh we were in heaven.

Nestled amongst the rolling fields with a panoramic view of a distant ocean is the Fig Tree

Oh Wow, what a place. Beautiful. So many little spots for photos, it was great.

Amber is a local Straddie girl and I have known her for years but was lucky enough to become friends with her when we were the photographers for her sister Emeralds wedding  – check it out here

(Emerald, Pattie their son Pax and baby on the way also live next door to us!)

It was a real family affair with brother Lincoln as MC, Emerald as bridesmaid and mum and dad closely involved.

My sister Emma was on the ladies makeup and styling was DKS Weddings

It was touch and go with the rain in the morning but Mother Nature came though and gave us some of her best work in the afternoon.

It really was a very fun day, leading into a fantastic night… and do these guys know how to party!

Have you seen a more gorgeous newly married couple…

Such a delight to photograph, we found it difficult to pick out our favorites from this wonderful day.

The weeks leading up had been raining and with the island receiving a soaking the night before – a beach wedding was looking a little doubtful. The sky was quite grey but it was decided… a beach wedding it was.

And absolutely the right decision.

That breathtaking instant during the vows as the clouds parted and the sun shone bathing the wedding in bright light and sparkling off their new wedding rings.

A moment no-one will forget.
